This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, used, stored, and protected when you use the WordUp mobile application ("WordUp", "the App", "the Service"). By using WordUp, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
WordUp is developed and operated by Lexora Education. For the purposes of applicable data protection laws (including the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law, KVKK, and where applicable the GDPR), Lexora Education acts as the data controller. You can reach us with any questions or requests at:

Account Data: When you sign up, we collect your email address, username, and (if you sign in with Google/Apple) basic profile information shared by that provider, via Firebase Authentication.
Usage & Progress Data: To personalize your learning experience, we record the words you're learning or reviewing, your spaced-repetition (SM-2) schedule, quiz and Speed Round results, your daily streak, completed stories, and overall progress statistics.
Subscription & Purchase Data: Premium subscriptions and lifetime purchases are managed through RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details — these are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We only receive your subscription status (active, expired, trial, etc.).
Analytics & Crash Data: We use (or may use) Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to monitor app performance and diagnose issues. This may include device model, OS version, app usage statistics, and crash reports.
Local On-Device Data: To support offline use, a copy of your word, story, and progress data is stored locally on your device (Room database).
Your data is stored on Google's Firebase/Firestore infrastructure, hosted in the Europe region (europe-west1). Access to your data is restricted through authenticated access rules (Firestore Security Rules) tied to your own account. We apply industry-standard encryption and access controls; however, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure.
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with the following service providers, strictly to operate the app:
We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or a valid request from a public authority.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to know whether your personal data is being processed, request information about it, learn its purpose, and request correction or deletion of your data. WordUp is a general-audience educational app and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes their child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact lexora.education@gmail.com so we can delete it.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data — except where retention is required by law — is permanently deleted from our systems within a reasonable period.
The app currently supports Turkish only. Support for additional languages is planned for future releases, at which point this policy will be updated accordingly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the app, and the "Last updated" date on this page will be revised.
